Writer and Director

Tamara Jackson-McClinon

Tamara Jackson-McClinon is an award-winning Christian performer, playwright, producer, speaker, and founder of Joyous Kingdom Productions, a creative ministry dedicated to producing inspiring theater, media, and live events that uplift audiences and encourage meaningful conversations. Guided by the belief that every story deserves a stage and every voice deserves to be heard, her work is rooted in faith, creativity, and purpose.

For many years, Tamara was best known as Mother Jenkins, a beloved comedic character whose humorous observations of everyday life and church culture delighted audiences across the country. As an emcee and opening act for nationally recognized gospel artists, she performed in churches, conferences, comedy clubs, and community events, using clean, relatable humor to inspire laughter while sharing timeless truths. Audiences often remembered Mother Jenkins long before realizing they had already met the talented actress behind the character.

Today, Tamara continues that legacy through Joyous Kingdom Productions by writing, producing, and directing original stage productions, hosting podcasts, speaking at community and faith-based events, and mentoring emerging artists. Her productions bring together theater, music, storytelling, and ministry to create experiences that entertain, encourage, and inspire people from all walks of life.

Known for her warmth, authenticity, and unwavering faith, Tamara believes creativity is one of God's greatest gifts for building bridges between people and bringing hope to communities. Whether behind the microphone, on stage, or behind the scenes, she remains committed to producing work that is both artistically excellent and spiritually meaningful.
